This mysterious race (Night Elf) were the first ones to awaken in the World of Warcraft. Also being the first to study magic the Night Elves’ reckless use of magic drew the Burning Legion into the world which led to a war between the two races. At last the Night Elves managed to drive the Burning Legion back to their world. The Night Elves sworn to never use magic again in fear of that the Legion would return. The Night Elves remained hidden on the top of Mount Hyjal for many thousand of years.

They are very close to nature and have many friends among the races of their homelands. The Night Elves joined the alliance after the third war because the World Tree was heavily damaged after the third war.
